Living on Social Security Disability Income for 12 Years! I’d Rather Have a Business than a Job

For over a decade, I've relied on Social Security Disability Income (SSDI) to support myself. It's been a journey filled with challenges, but it's also been a period of self-discovery and transformation. In this blog post, I want to share my experiences, insights, and the reasons why I've come to prefer having a business over a traditional job while living on SSDI. It's a story of resilience, adaptability, and the pursuit of financial independence.

Embracing SSDI

Twelve years ago, due to unforeseen circumstances, I found myself relying on SSDI as my primary source of income. While it provided a safety net during difficult times, it also came with its fair share of limitations. The fixed income and strict rules surrounding employment while on SSDI left me yearning for a more flexible and fulfilling financial future.

The Business vs. Job Dilemma

As I contemplated my financial options, I faced a crucial decision: pursue a traditional job or start a business. While a job offered stability, it also meant adhering to someone else's schedule and limitations. On the other hand, a business promised autonomy and the opportunity to shape my destiny. After careful consideration, I chose the path of entrepreneurship, believing it was my key to financial independence.

The Journey of Entrepreneurship

Starting a business while living on SSDI wasn't without its challenges. It demanded hard work, dedication, and adaptability. There were months of uncertainty, but there were also moments of triumph. Over time, my business grew, and I found myself not only generating income but also experiencing personal growth and a renewed sense of purpose. Today, I can confidently say that I'd rather have a business than a job. It's not just about the income; it's about the freedom, flexibility, and fulfillment that come with being an entrepreneur.

So..................

Living on Social Security Disability Income for 12 years has taught me the value of adaptability and the importance of pursuing financial independence. While the traditional job route may offer stability, entrepreneurship has empowered me to take control of my financial future, all while living on SSDI. It's a choice that has transformed my life, and I hope my story serves as an inspiration to others facing similar circumstances. Remember, you have the power to shape your destiny, and with determination and the right mindset, you can choose a path that aligns with your dreams and aspirations, just as I have.
